Not all dental procedures are created equal

Not all dental procedures are created equal, and this goes for both cost and discomfort. Some of the most feared procedures, e.g. root canals, may not be fun to receive, but the total cost when done is not going to typically break the bank. However, the replacement of a tooth via a dental implant, bridge, or denture can be highly cost prohibitive.

These are the top 3 places to receive dental care in 2014:
1. Mexico – If you live in a town that is within an hour of the Mexican border, you already know how affordable dentistry is a short jaunt away. For a number of decades Americans have been driving across the border to receive safe and effective dentistry from well trained dentists and staff.

This option has become so popular, it is possible to park your car on the American side of the border, walk across, and get your dental work done almost immediately.
Cities like Los Algodones, a border town right across from Yuma, Arizona have been a hotbed for dental tourism and it shows no signs of slowing down. Whether you need a basic procedure like teeth whitening, dentures, or a more complicated one like a dental implant, you will be able to find Los Algodones dentists practicing. Word has spread to northern States and into Canada where residents of both countries fly down for a bit of a vacation and dental care. Since savings are nearly 75% of what they normally would pay, it makes perfect sense to seek out these procedures.

2. Thailand – While North Americans do travel here for dental work, residents of Australia and New Zealand are the most likely tourists you will find receiving dental care. Proximity and cost are the main reasons, but Bangkok is a major city that also has wonderful hotels and sights at an extremely affordable cost.
Phuket is another city that many people travel too within Thailand for dental care.

3. Hungary – It is not uncommon for Europeans to travel across the border into Hungary to receive major or minor dental work and procedures. Home to the most dentists and dental practices per capita than any place in the world, you will be able to find a safe and effective dentist here as the statistics simply do not lie. This remains why Hungary is one of the top places to travel to for dentistry in 2014.
